By Chris Turek - The UpNorth Airgunner
Back in December, I joined the DonnyFL and Saber Tactical crew in Florida for a hunting trip to test out the Karma SLS semi-auto airgun they just came out with. My sidekick for the adventure was PJ Clarke, a longtime friend and fellow airgunner.
Together, we headed to Southern Florida to meet up with Travis Wilson of Trophy Trophies. Travis gave us a front-row seat to the region’s overwhelming iguana problem, and let me tell you—it was an eye-opener. The trip turned out to be the perfect opportunity to see PJ running the Karma SLS in action.
Why Hunt Iguana with the Karma SLS?
Urban Pest Control: Equipment Considerations
For this hunt, I brought my FX Impact M4, a rifle I’m extremely familiar with and confident in, but I spent most of the day watching PJ run the Karma SLS, putting in serious work on the iguana population. I also took the opportunity to burn through a few magazines myself, and it quickly became clear why this airgun is such a powerhouse for urban pest control.
Karma SLS Standard vs. Compact
The Karma SLS series is designed for fast-paced shooting situations where efficiency matters. Whether choosing the full-size Karma SLS Standard or the more maneuverable Karma SLS Compact, both models share key features that make them well-suited for hunting and pest control.
Key Features of the Karma SLS Series:
Urban Hunting Safety & Considerations
✔ Pellets Over Slugs: We opted for pellets instead of slugs to minimize risk. Slugs carry more retained energy and, in an urban setting, pose an increased safety concern.
✔ Power Adjustments: The Karma SLS was tuned down to appropriate power levels for the surroundings.
The Karma SLS performed exactly as expected, allowing PJ to take down iguanas all day with fast, accurate follow-up shots. The speed and efficiency of a true semi-auto airgun make a significant difference in an environment where multiple targets present themselves quickly.

Final Thoughts: The Karma SLS Delivers
For urban iguana control, the Karma SLS is an absolute game-changer. The ability to rapidly cycle shots with precision makes it an ideal tool for invasive species management. Its semi-auto capability, adjustable power settings, and practical ergonomics give it a major advantage in high-target-density situations.
Florida’s iguana problem isn’t slowing down, but with airguns like the Karma SLS, professional pest control teams and hunters now have an effective and reliable solution. If you’re looking for a dedicated semi-auto platform for pest control or hunting, the Karma SLS should be at the top of your list.
