Republic of Texas Field Target Grand Prix — DonnyFL on the Line
Last weekend, the Arlington Sportsman's Club in Mansfield, Texas hosted the 2026 Republic of Texas Field Target Grand Prix — and DonnyFL was there. Thirty-nine shooters from across the country gathered for three days of airgun field target competition across pistol and rifle disciplines, dealing with Texas wind, shifting shadows, and kill zones that demanded the absolute best from their equipment.
We're proud to have been a sponsor of this event, and even prouder to report that DonnyFL moderators were well represented on the firing line all weekend. When precision matters and every variable counts, silence is a priority — and our shooters know it.
DonnyFL Moderator of Choice — PCP Class Awards As a sponsor of the 2026 ROT Grand Prix, DonnyFL awarded a moderator of choice to the first-place finisher in each PCP Rifle class. Congratulations to our winners — your moderator is on its way.
Three Days, Three Matches
The weekend opened Friday afternoon with a 56-shot pistol match on the club's 3D Archery course — a layout notorious in the field target community for its mesquite and live oak canopy, tricky shadows, and invisible swirling winds. Temperatures hit 90°F with 10–17mph winds out of the south. Twenty-three pistol shooters (22 Hunter class, 1 Limited) worked through 14 lanes; the course rated 35.8T with an SD of 6.07. A shootoff settled in third place in Hunter class.
Saturday's rifle match ran the same archery course with 39 shooters on a 60-shot layout (Troyer 34.8, SD 6.00). Wind gusts hit 23mph. After the match, the club's Schaefer Pavilion opened with barbecue from Hickory Stick BBQ and a raffle with prizes from all event sponsors.
Sunday moved to the club's Sporting Clays course for the second rifle day — more open terrain, full exposure to the south wind at 12–20mph, and a 60-shot course rated 34.6T. Sunday's scores combined with Saturday's to determine the 120-shot Grand Prix rifle standings.

Events like the ROT Grand Prix exist because of the people who put them together. Match directors Jeff Cloud and Scott Cotton, along with the full Arlington Sportsman's Club volunteer crew, ran an exceptionally smooth weekend. From the setup to the barbeque to the closing ceremony, it showed.
Thank you to our fellow sponsors — RAW, AirForce, Utah Airguns, Hawke Optics, Athlon Scopes, Pyramyd AIR, Predator International (JSB), Scope-Werks, Thrivent Financial, Jim Clarke, and Art Womack — for your continued support of competitive airgun sport.
DonnyFL moderators were running quiet all weekend on rigs up and down the firing line. When silence is a priority, competitors know where to look. Congratulations to all 39 shooters who made the trip to Mansfield — we'll see you on the line.
